Problem
In a distributed enterprise environment, knowledge about digital solutions relied heavily on informal networks. Sales and CRM teams depended on personal relationships to discover existing tools. Previous attempts at similar platforms failed due to low maintainability and unclear ownership. As a result, duplicated development efforts increased costs and reduced transparency.

Vision
01. Help sales teams quickly find and present relevant solutions during client conversations. 02. Create a modern discovery experience for the search page, inspired by a “Netflix-like” browsing experience requested by stakeholders. 03. Reduce duplicate development - make digital solutions across the organisation visible and easy to discover in one place. 04. Allow solution owners to add and maintain content with minimal effort. 05. Keep the back-office interface simple to minimise design and development effort for the MVP.

Research
To understand how people currently discover and share digital solutions, I conducted 15 in-depth interviews across the key roles in the ecosystem. Participants included managirial roles such as head of Global Business Services Americas, sales teams, solution owners and communication teams. The research was conducted within a tight timeline, while the MVP scope was being defined in parallel with development planning. The findings helped define the first MVP scope and clarified which problems the platform needed to solve first.

Key insights
Sales teams optimise for speed. They need to quickly understand what a solution does, how it works, and its approximate implementation time and cost before presenting it to a client. Existing internal platforms lacked critical information. Price and implementation duration were missing, making them less useful during sales conversations. Content creators have little natural incentive to contribute. Solution owners rarely benefit directly from documenting their solutions, so contribution and maintenance must remain quick and low effort. Complex admin workflows discourage participation. The platform needed a simple contribution process to ensure content stays up to date. Search must support incomplete knowledge. Users often search using a capability or use case rather than the exact solution name.

Alignment
Several key decisions were shaped through discussions between stakeholders and the development team while defining the MVP scope. • Discovery model. Stakeholders initially wanted a combination of Google-like search and Netflix-style browsing. While the design explored both approaches, maintaining meaningful images for each solution proved difficult, so the final direction focused more on search-driven discovery with lighter browsing elements. • Information transparency. Sales teams needed pricing and implementation timelines, but exact costs were difficult due to solution customisation. For the MVP we introduced a relative price indicator (dollar ranking) instead of exact pricing. • Future features. Ideas such as solution reviews and ratings were identified but postponed to later development phases.
